[Portland, OR] – Following this week’s announcement that AFSCME has endorsed Tina Kotek for Oregon Governor, the Oregon AFL-CIO has also announced its formal endorsement of Tina Kotek for Oregon Governor. The Oregon AFL-CIO C.O.P.E. (Committee on Political Education) Board, which represents over 300,000 workers, overwhelmingly voted to endorse Kotek.
“The Oregon AFL-CIO is proud to endorse former Speaker of the House Tina Kotek for Governor! Oregon’s working families deserve a champion in the Governor’s office, both to preserve the progress we have made and to build the Oregon we need to move us forward,” said Graham Trainor, President of the Oregon AFL-CIO. “Tina Kotek is that champion and we are looking forward to working hard to elect her as the next Governor of Oregon.”
“I am honored to have the support of the Oregon AFL-CIO,” said Tina Kotek, candidate for Governor. “I am the only candidate for Governor who will fight for Oregon’s workers and working families.”
To date, Tina Kotek has earned the endorsements of over 30 organizations, including labor unions and civil rights organizations. Tina has also earned the support of over 60 state and local elected officials.
