Both of Tina’s Conservative Opponents Make it Clear They Are Out of Touch with Most Oregonians on Abortion, Gun Safety, Protecting the Environment, and More
[Welches, OR] – Today, in the first gubernatorial debate of the general election, Tina Kotek showed Oregonians that she is the only candidate in the race who voters can trust to effectively take on Oregon’s biggest challenges.
Tina laid out her vision clearly when she said:
“If you hire me as your governor, I’m not going to spend time playing partisan games – or playing games at all. My job is to fight for every Oregonian to get the work done to take on our toughest challenges. Because the challenges are real. They are tough. They are serious. We’ve talked about them today.
“As your next Governor, I’m going to fight every day to end our housing and homelessness crisis, to provide mental health and addiction treatment services for Oregonians in every corner of the state, to make sure every child in the state has a good public education, and to take on climate change – not only to protect our communities already impacted by climate change but to build a clean energy future where every part of the state benefits from that change. Because being able to deliver results right now is what really matters for Oregonians.”
Meanwhile, on issue after issue, Republican candidate Christine Drazan and conservative candidate Betsy Johnson made it clear that they are both out of touch with most Oregonians on issues that matter most – from protecting reproductive rights, to tackling climate change, to ending gun violence.
“Betsy Johnson and Christine Drazan both have track records that reveal a long series of ‘no’ votes without any plan to fix the issues they complain about,” said Katie Wertheimer, communications director for the Kotek campaign. “Tina laid out a clear vision to move Oregon forward. There is no question that Tina is the right person for the job.”
