PORTLAND, OR – Today, Governor Tina Kotek announced she’s participating in debates and forums across Portland, Eugene, Medford and Bend to share how she’s continuing to tackle the biggest issues facing Oregon and how she’s fighting back against Donald Trump’s attacks directly with voters.
Meanwhile, extremist Christine Drazan is refusing to face voters at a Portland debate in front of a live audience – preferring to hide behind a TV studio debate so she won’t have to answer directly to Oregonians about her support for Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda that includes eliminating vote by mail, banning abortion, and gutting Oregonians’ health care.
“Governor Kotek accepted invitations to debates and forums in Portland, Eugene, Medford and Bend,” Federico Araujo, communications director for Tina for Oregon. “Meanwhile, Christine Drazan refused opportunities to debate in front of a live audience in both Portland and Eugene because she’s afraid voters will hold her accountable for siding with Donald Trump as he attacks our state. With just over 40 days until the election, the choice couldn’t be any clearer: Christine Drazan is ready to open the door to Trump’s MAGA agenda and Governor Kotek is fighting every day to protect Oregonians from federal overreach and harm.”
All debates and forums will be broadcast or livestreamed, meaning Oregonians will have ample opportunity to hear from both candidates. Governor Kotek will be participating in debates and forums with:
- Portland Forum, September 24th: Oregon Business & Industry and Portland Business Journal
- Eugene Debate, October 1st: Oregon Journalism Project, Lookout Eugene-Springfield, KVAL TV, and the UO School of Journalism and Communication
- Medford Debate, October 7th: KOBI-TV
- Bend Debate, October 13th: KTVZ and The Source
