“Rely” highlights how Christine Drazan is in lockstep with Trump on cutting healthcare for Oregonians
PORTLAND, OR – Today, Governor Tina Kotek’s re-election campaign launched a new ad highlighting how Christine Drazan is in line with the Trump administration on cutting Oregonians’ healthcare. “Rely” shows that Christine Drazan will continue to side with Trump over Oregonians, especially when it comes to threatening Medicaid, also known as the Oregon Health Plan.
“Christine Drazan has spent her entire legislative career threatening access to healthcare,” said Federico Araujo, communications director for Tina for Oregon. “Just like Donald Trump, she sees no issue ripping coverage away from working Oregonians to give tax breaks to the ultra wealthy. Even as Trump’s Medicaid cuts threaten healthcare for over a million Oregonians, Drazan has remained silent. She voted against funding the Oregon Health Plan and capping prescription drug costs. Unlike Drazan, Governor Kotek will always stand up to Trump and protect Oregonians’ access to healthcare.”
Christine Drazan’s record of cutting Oregon’s healthcare:
- Last year, Drazan downplayed the impact of Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill and its impact on Oregon families’ health care.
- Drazan voted against funding for the Oregon Health Plan.
- Drazan voted no on the creation of the Prescription Drug Affordability Board, which reviews and reports on price increases in prescription drugs.
- Drazan opposed legislation to even explore the possibility of universal health care in Oregon.
“RELY” TRANSCRIPT
JASMINE S.: I work at a bakery. I’m on my feet all day. I love it.
But not having healthcare from my job can be hard.
Luckily, I am on OHP, the Oregon Health Plan.
And because of that, I’m able to get the care that I need.
When President Trump cuts Medicaid, that’s my coverage.
Christine Drazan will always side with Trump.
Drazan will not stand up for Oregon, and she’s made that very clear.
Drazan voted against capping drug costs. Medication is going to be that much less accessible.
That puts a lot of people at risk.

ABOUT GOVERNOR KOTEK
Governor Tina Kotek has spent her career making history and fighting for others. Over the last three years, Governor Kotek has expanded access to affordable childcare, created thousands of new shelter beds, protected abortion access and vote-by-mail, and funded early literacy and summer learning programs. She has also been a national leader in pushing back against Donald Trump’s attacks on our communities, our healthcare, and our rights by blocking his illegal attempts to deploy the Oregon National Guard in our communities and working through the night to reverse his decision to strip food assistance from Oregonians by taking away SNAP benefits.
Governor Kotek is running for reelection to continue defending Oregon values and tackling the state’s biggest challenges – lowering costs, reducing homelessness, strengthening schools, expanding mental health and addiction care, and bringing affordable childcare to every corner of the state.
