New Digital Ad Highlights the Stakes for Abortion Access in Oregon

“I know that without a strong, pro-choice governor like Tina Kotek, Oregon could be next.”

[Portland, OR] – The Tina for Oregon campaign released a new ad, “Won’t Go Back,” featuring young women who share their reactions to the U.S. Supreme Court voting to overturn Roe v. Wade.

The new ad lays out the stakes for abortion access in Oregon. With anti-abortion governors enacting extreme abortion bans around the country, including in neighboring Idaho, a pro-choice governor is the last line of defense to protect access in Oregon.

The ad also highlights Republican candidate Christine Drazan’s extreme anti-abortion record. While serving in the legislature, Christine Drazan twice sponsored legislation that could jail doctors for performing abortions. Drazan is also endorsed by Oregon Right to Life, an extreme group that opposes abortion even in cases of rape and incest.

“As House Republican Leader, Christine Drazan actively worked to restrict access to abortion in Oregon – she even tried to throw doctors in jail for providing care,” said Katie Wertheimer, communications director. “Drazan’s right-wing views on abortion are the last thing Oregonians need when our reproductive rights are under attack.”
