Oregon AFSCME Endorses Tina Kotek for Governor

[Portland, OR] – Oregon AFSCME announced that they have endorsed Tina Kotek for Oregon Governor. Oregon AFSCME represents over 33,000 workers in every corner of the state.

This year, Tina will face two anti-worker candidates for the state’s highest office – former House Republican Leader Christine Drazan and former State Senator Betsy Johnson

“Speaker Kotek has been a longtime supporter of expanding resources for Oregon’s underfunded behavioral health systems and has stood up over and over for the programs and services our members are proud to provide and support,” said Fred Yungbluth, President of Oregon AFSCME.

“AFSCME members have been on the frontlines these past few years, caring for our families and providing essential services to keep our communities going. I am so grateful to the hardworking people of AFSCME for their support and endorsement, said Tina Kotek, candidate for Governor. “As we continue to navigate our way out of this pandemic, it’s critical that we stand up for workers and build a future where every Oregonian has an opportunity to succeed. In the race for Governor, I am the only candidate with the track record and values that working families can count on.”

Tina has earned the support of nearly every labor union in the state, including the Oregon State Building and Construction Trades Council, the Oregon Nurses AssociationOregon Education Association, and SEIU State Council. Tina is the only candidate in the race with broad support from working families and labor leaders across the state. Tina has also earned the support of over 60 state and local elected officials.
