“So Much More” highlights how Christine Drazan’s anti-abortion record is in line with Donald Trump’s
PORTLAND, OR – Today, Governor Tina Kotek’s re-election campaign launched a new ad highlighting Christine Drazan’s threat to reproductive healthcare in Oregon. “So Much More” shows Oregonians that Christine Drazan cannot be trusted to protect abortion rights or reproductive healthcare providers and patients from federal attacks.
“Since the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, Republicans like Christine Drazan have stopped at nothing to attack reproductive freedom and healthcare. Oregonians deserve a governor who will stand up for our values and fight for their right to make decisions about their own bodies,” said Governor Kotek. “That’s why I created a first-in-the-nation plan to maintain funding for Planned Parenthood and strengthened Oregon’s ‘Shield Law’ to protect patients and providers.”
Christine Drazan’s extreme, anti-abortion record:
- In May, Drazan touted her fifth consecutive endorsement from Oregon Right to Life — which opposes abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or health of the mother.
- In March, Drazan voted against using state dollars to backfill funding to Planned Parenthood.
- In March, Drazan also voted against protecting abortion and gender-affirming care providers and seekers from lawsuits and professional discipline.
- In 2022, Drazan called herself a “pro-life woman”.
- In 2022, Drazan said she would veto a bill if it expanded abortion access in Oregon.
- In 2022, Drazan celebrated the Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision.
- Drazan has sponsored three anti-choice bills that could punish doctors, including two that would allow prison time.
- In 2018, Drazan supported a ballot measure that would prohibit public funds from being spent on abortions in Oregon.
