“Suffer” exposes Christine Drazan’s support of President Trump’s cuts to Medicaid
PORTLAND, OR – Today, Governor Tina Kotek’s re-election campaign launched its third television ad of the general election, “Suffer,” which highlights the threat that Christine Drazan’s support for President Trump’s Medicaid cuts poses to Oregon families. The ad is part of the campaign’s statewide, multi-million-dollar paid media program, which will highlight Governor Kotek’s record of delivering results and defending Oregon’s values.
“Christine Drazan had the chance to stand up for Oregon families and she chose not to,” said Governor Tina Kotek. “I ran for governor to fight for Oregonians and that’s exactly what I’ll continue to do. I will never stop protecting the health care Oregon families depend on, even while Christine Drazan and Donald Trump push cuts that make finding care harder and more expensive for families across our state.”
The Oregon Health Plan, Oregon’s version of Medicaid, covers more than 1.4 million Oregonians, and provides access to the doctors, nurses, and clinics that families across the state depend on. Trump’s cuts are projected to strip Oregon of up to $15 billion in federal funding, with the Oregon Health Plan alone facing a loss of $6.85 billion by 2031. Christine Drazan voted against House Bill 2010, which extended funding to help stabilize the Oregon Health Plan.
