PORTLAND, OR – Today, Governor Tina Kotek’s re-election campaign launched a new ad highlighting Christine Drazan’s threat to reproductive healthcare in Oregon. “So Much More” shows Oregonians that Christine Drazan cannot be trusted to protect abortion rights or reproductive healthcare providers and patients from federal attacks.

“Since the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, Republicans like Christine Drazan have stopped at nothing to attack reproductive freedom and healthcare. Christine Drazan’s extreme, anti-abortion record:

• In May, Drazan touted her fifth consecutive endorsement from Oregon Right to Life — which opposes abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or health of the mother.
• In March, Drazan voted against using state dollars to backfill funding to Planned Parenthood.
• In March, Drazan also voted against protecting abortion and gender-affirming care providers and seekers from lawsuits and professional discipline.
• In 2022, Drazan called herself a “pro-life woman”.
• In 2022, Drazan said she would veto a bill if it expanded abortion access in Oregon.
• In 2022, Drazan celebrated the Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision.
• Drazan has sponsored three anti-choice bills that could punish doctors, including two that would allow prison time.

PORTLAND, OR – Today, Governor Tina Kotek released her vision for her second term, titled “Building Oregon’s Future Together.” By building on the accomplishments from her first term, Governor Kotek will fight to make life more affordable, create more economic opportunity, help all students succeed, and defend what makes Oregon special.

“While we have more work to do on Oregon’s toughest challenges, I look forward to building a future that works for every Oregonian,” said Governor Kotek. “We have been making important progress, and my second term will build upon our state’s efforts to tackle affordability, economic growth, and educational outcomes, as well as continue to stand up for Oregon against threats from the federal government.”

Governor Kotek’s platform has four pillars:

• Make Life More Affordable: Governor Kotek will expand access to infant and toddler childcare while creating a pathway to universal preschool statewide, and increase affordable housing options for renters and first-time home buyers.

PORTLAND, OR –  Earlier this week, the Trump administration announced that the Environmental Protection Agency will erase critical limits on climate pollution for coal and methane gas plants. 

These limits, put in place by the Biden administration, would have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 1 billion metric tons by 2047.

A recent study found that the combined impact of this rollback along with other anti-climate moves such as repealing clean energy tax credits will result in Americans:

• Paying up to $30 billion more a year on electricity by 2035. Under Trump’s policies, average utility bills increase by as much as 25%.
• Losing out on up to $700 billion in investments in the U.S. power system over the next decade.
• Being exposed to more air pollution from older coal and gas plants, resulting in up to 69,000 additional early deaths and 85,000 extra emergency room visits and hospital admissions over the next decade.
• Paying an estimated public health cost of  $177 billion per year by 2035, reflecting the economic losses resulting from more premature deaths and greater illness rates.
• Living with up to double the power sector carbon dioxide pollution by 2035, with the United States as a whole dumping an additional 3.6 to 5.5 billion metric tons over the next decade.

“By rolling back these protections, Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are harming the health of Oregonians,  our environment, and our economy to boost their Big Oil and Big Coal donors,” said Lindsey Scholten, OLCV Executive Director. “At this critical moment, Oregon needs a governor who will stand up for our lands, our climate, and our communities in the face of these attacks. We cannot afford to have a Trump ally like Christine Drazan  — who will implement MAGA’s dangerous climate agenda in Oregon — in the governor’s office.”

When the federal government has slashed climate protections, Governor Kotek has fought back to protect Oregon’s environment and climate goals. She re-established Oregon’s Climate Protection Program, putting Oregon back on track to reduce climate pollution through 2050. She signed executive orders to accelerate clean energy, advance climate resilience, and strengthen coordination on clean energy. She secured $197 million in EPA Climate Pollution Reduction Grant funding, making Oregon the only West Coast state to receive the award which supports climate solutions for communities, businesses, nonprofits, and Tribes across the state.

Unlike Governor Kotek, Christine Drazan has failed to stand up for Oregon’s environment or take the climate crisis seriously. Alongside Trump, she has put polluters and corporations ahead of Oregon’s environment, public health, and energy consumers at every opportunity.

Christine Drazan’s Record on Climate:

• Drazan promised to repeal Oregon’s Climate Protection Program on Day One, which was projected to add nearly 10,000 jobs and $2.5 billion annually to Oregon’s economy by 2050.
• Drazan voted against energy efficiency standards that would save Oregonians $35 million on utility bills. 
• Drazan voted against the POWER Act, which makes data centers pay their fair share of electricity costs.
• Drazan voted against regulations on a harmful pesticide that causes neurological damage in children and farmworkers.
• Drazan voted against an early version of a bill prohibiting public bodies from assisting in the privatization of federally owned land and then missed a vote on the final version.

She sent a letter to PeaceHealth strongly requesting a 180-day delay of their planned transition to a venture-capital-backed staffing company, directed the Oregon Medical Board to provide weekly updates on physician staffing, and directed the Oregon Health Authority to monitor compliance with the corporate practice of medicine law she signed in 2025.
• In 2025, Governor Kotek signed two bills that funded summer learning programs, marking an important step forward in the state’s commitment to provide opportunities for students and ongoing funding for this critical education support. Among other school districts across the state, the Bethel School District received $900,000 in funding to support summer learning opportunities for students in Summer 2026.
• In 2024, she signed a $376 million Emergency Housing Stabilization and Production Package to cut red tape, simplify the building process, and increase interest-free loans to local governments.
• On Day One of her administration, Governor Kotek declared a homelessness state of emergency with Eugene/Springfield identified as a focus region. She championed $205 million to create Oregon’s first permanent statewide shelter system and $138 million for rehousing and rental assistance, keeping 24,000 households from losing their housing and helping 3,300 families transition from shelters back into housing.

Governor Kotek’s record on data centers is clear. She supports moratoriums on new data center development across Oregon and said the state “needs to stop being a cheap date.” She blocked the sale of state land for a new data center in Salem and continues to call for more transparency and accountability to protect Oregon consumers and natural resources.

PORTLAND, OR – Today, Governor Tina Kotek’s re-election campaign launched its third television ad of the general election, “Suffer,” which highlights the threat that Christine Drazan’s support for President Trump’s Medicaid cuts poses to Oregon families. The ad is part of the campaign’s statewide, multi-million-dollar paid media program, which will highlight Governor Kotek’s record of delivering results and defending Oregon’s values.

The Oregon Health Plan, Oregon’s version of Medicaid, covers more than 1.4 million Oregonians, and provides access to the doctors, nurses, and clinics that families across the state depend on. Trump’s cuts are projected to strip Oregon of up to $15 billion in federal funding, with the Oregon Health Plan alone facing a loss of $6.85 billion by 2031. Christine Drazan voted against House Bill 2010, which extended funding to help stabilize the Oregon Health Plan.

PORTLAND, OR – Today, Governor Tina Kotek’s re-election campaign launched a new digital ad highlighting Christine Drazan’s repeated efforts to restrict abortion access in Oregon. “Abortion – Always” shows Oregonians that no matter how hard Drazan tries to rebrand herself, she is still the same Trump-aligned candidate who wants to roll back abortion rights that voters rejected in 2022.

• Governor Kotek has fought to lower costs for working families by reigning in utility rate hikes, canceling proposed freeway tolls, banning hidden junk fees, and protecting Oregonians’ credit scores from medical debt.
• Governor Kotek oversaw the implementation of Oregon’s landmark paid family and medical leave law after championing its passage as Speaker. As of March 2025, Paid Leave Oregon had paid out over $1 billion in benefits to more than 150,000 Oregonians.
• Governor Kotek passed landmark legislation making Oregon the first state to expand unemployment benefits to all striking workers, championing the bill early on to ensure it passed the legislature.
• Governor Kotek issued an executive order to create a new Interagency Council on  Immigrant and Refugee Coordination to strengthen the state’s ability to protect immigrant and refugee communities and joined 31 Oregon mayors in calling for an immediate halt to unlawful ICE immigration enforcement actions in our communities.
